Dear Mushunga Community,
This November, Mushunga celebrates the people who make our mission possible. These are the teachers, staff members, and friends who guide and nurture our children every day, and our board members who will soon join us in person to see the impact of their love and generosity.
Teacher Spotlight: Kiconco Bridget – “Teaching Has Changed My Life”

At Victorious Community School, every classroom holds a story of transformation. It is not only the children whose lives are changing but also the teachers who devote their hearts to helping them grow.
Kiconco Bridget, the Deputy Head Teacher and Primary Two class teacher, joined Victorious Community School in 2023 after hearing about the opportunity through a friend. From her first day, she knew she had found a special community.
“The school has changed my life positively,” Bridget shares. “It has developed my teaching skills through the workshops we attend and through the experience I gain here. This was my first school, and it has made me grow both professionally and economically. I earn a living, and I am thankful for that.”
Bridget describes Mushunga Project as a friendly and supportive environment where everyone, from administrators to fellow teachers and children, treats one another with kindness and respect.
“What inspires me to stay,” she says, “is that everyone is friendly. The school pays on time, guides me when I make mistakes, and helps me grow. The children are so loving; they show the heart of learning and practice what I teach.”
Her favorite moments are the times she spends talking with her pupils, listening to their stories, sharing her own, and helping them solve their problems. “I feel great when I am talking to them,” she smiles. “It improves my skill in problem solving, and it reminds me why I love teaching.”

Outside the classroom, Bridget enjoys adventure and discovery. She is deeply grateful to the sponsors, leaders, and friends who have made the school what it is today. “I appreciate everyone, my bosses, my fellow teachers, and our sponsors who help develop this school. Thank you so much.”
Through teachers like Bridget, Mushunga Project continues to strengthen its vision of education, dignity, and child empowerment, one lesson, one smile, and one life at a time.
Looking Ahead: Welcoming Our Board Members
As we celebrate the dedication of our teachers, we are also preparing to welcome two of our board members this November, Mr. Martyn and Mr. Geoff.
For Martyn, this visit will be a joyful homecoming and a chance to see the progress that his leadership has helped nurture. For Geoff, it will be his first visit to Mushunga, a meaningful opportunity to walk through the classrooms, meet the children, and witness the daily miracles of this community.
Their visit represents a new chapter of connection between our team in Uganda and our friends abroad. We look forward to learning, sharing, and celebrating together as one global Mushunga family.
Celebrating Frank’s Visit and Looking Forward to Connection
As we look forward to welcoming our board members, we also celebrate one of this year’s most inspiring highlights; the visit of Mr. Frank from Germany. Frank spent two weeks fully immersed in the life of Mushunga Project, teaching English, Social Studies, and creative lessons to our children at Victorious Community School.
His kindness, humility, and passion for learning touched every child and staff member. The games and materials he brought have brought new joy and discovery to our classrooms, creating moments of laughter and learning that the children will never forget. We are deeply grateful for his time and we thank sponsors who donated some of these materials.
Looking ahead, we are also preparing to host a special virtual workshop during the upcoming visit of Mr. Martyn and Mr. Geoff. This will give our sponsors and supporters an opportunity to join us via video call, connect directly with the Mushunga team, ask questions, and receive updates about ongoing programs and building plans.
It will be a time to celebrate our shared impact and renew our commitment to transforming lives together.
With Gratitude
From the dedication of teachers like Bridget to the partnerships that cross oceans, Mushunga Project continues to grow through faith, friendship, and shared purpose.
Thank you for standing with us in empowering children, supporting teachers, and building futures filled with hope.
With warm gratitude,
The Mushunga Community Project Team
