Tonny Mutekyereze is the visionary behind the Mushunga Project. Born and raised in Uganda, Tonny founded the initiative with a heart to serve orphans, widows, and underprivileged families in the Mushunga community. Guided by his strong faith and commitment to Christ-centered values, he has dedicated his life to creating opportunities for children to grow in love, respect, and dignity.
Under his leadership, the Mushunga Project has expanded to provide education, nutrition, clean water, and community development programs that bring lasting hope. Tonny’s passion is to see children empowered to reach their full potential and families restored through sustainable solutions.

I come from an island which is rich in its approach to volunteering being many of the population participating in helping the community. I have supported a number of organizations including supporting the probation service in providing financial counseling to families of prisoners. I have been involved in mentoring a number of inmates at a prison in Sacramento California. My support and help at Mushunga is passionate to me
Martyn is the Chairperson of the Mushunga Community Project Board and a dedicated philanthropist with a deep passion for helping children. He has extensive experience in corporate governance and serves on the boards of various charitable organizations, contributing his strategic expertise to support impactful initiatives. His commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children and families aligns with Mushunga's mission to foster sustainable community development

As a former Regional Director in UNHCR's Africa Bureau, and more recently, Director of Ethics, her humanitarian efforts to improve refugee protection will garner her invaluable expertise in addressing the alleviation from poverty and combating challenges like human smuggling and trafficking. Her engagement and knowledge in promoting collaborative approaches aligns with Mushunga's mission to strengthen resilience through efforts to find sustainable community- driven change.
Ann Encontre brings her experience of over three decades of dedicated service to the international protection of displaced populations to the Board of the Mushunga Community Project. As such, she is continuing her commitment to supporting vulnerable persons by helping to improve the lives of orphan children and families in the community.
