Dear Mushunga Community,
Thank you for your continued support, generosity, and prayers. It is exciting to see the impact we can make in Mushunga, Uganda
February has been a month of movement, preparation, and visible progress at Mushunga Community Project. After beginning the year with gratitude and reflection, we stepped into February ready to build, strengthen, and expand the work entrusted to us.
From improvements at Victorious Community School to growth on the farm and welcoming new children into our care, this month has been filled with meaningful action. This year so far has been one of the most exciting in Mushunga Project’s journey. After some delays, we’re thrilled to announce that we have been able to register and establish a UK Charity - Mushunga, Ibanda Children UK Charity (the UK charity supporting Mushunga’s work) and Charity Number is 1215211 (registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in the UK)
None of this would be possible without you - our sponsors, supporters, and the board, every gift, prayer, and act of kindness helps build brighter futures for Uganda’s children.
Strengthening the Mushunga orphanage and Victorious Community School.
As School year began, we focused on creating an even better learning and living environment for our children. We are thankful of the Lord and the kindness of our sponsors across the world who has supported this journey. There are number of things that we were able to accomplish and get done with all your help and support.
Fencing the school and orphanage to improve safety and provide a more secure environment for learning and boarding. This makes the orphanages premises secure and children feel more comfortable with guaranteed security.
To continue serving the children and enabling access to education to the vulnerable children in the communities we procured more desks in classrooms to accommodate the growing number of learners and ensure every child has a comfortable space to study. This current year Victorious community school has opened doors to Grade 5- part of the elementary classes that run from Grade 0ne to Grade seven as per Uganda’s Ministry of Education and sports policies. As we have seen in recent years our vision is to add one class at a time up to Grade 7. Mushunga project welcomed additional teachers at Victorious Community School team, to serve in Grade 5.
Victorious Community school has offered us an opportunity to expand to a boarding section/school, more beds in the dormitory have been procured to improve sleeping arrangements and provide dignity and comfort for boarding students. This helps to reduce high school dropouts and early childhood pregnancy tendencies that may arise from our girls being exposed in communities -Some of our children selected from high-risk exposed environment for now they will stay at VCS and in the care of lovely trained teachers, it means the children are fully engaged in school activities all through the week.

Dianah Itungo, 6 years old has joined our sponsorship program and now goes to Victorious Community School in Kindergaten class, she has no different story from other children in Uganda with humble and struggling difficulties. Please continue to pray for her so that she may grow to achieve her dreams and become what she was created to become. Its such kindness from individual sponsorships that continue to enable these children to go to school. As Nelson Mandela once said that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world".
We pray that with Mushunga’s sponsorship program, in years to come we shall see leaders in communities, Lawyers, Doctors, Accountants, Finance manager, among others out there changing the world from these sponsored children receiving education. Kindly continue spreading the good news of how Mushunga sponsorship program is improving lives.
Lighting is still a problem at the orphanage however a short-term solution has been explored and a new inverter has been procured and installed to improve access to reliable lighting. This means children can study safely in the evenings and staff can work without disruption. We continue to pray for the long-term solution to the lighting at the orphanage and VCS.
Each of these steps may seem practical, but together they represent something powerful: growth. Mushunga is expanding, and more children are receiving the care and education they deserve.
Progress at the Farm: Building Sustainability
First, our farm continues to play a vital role in supporting the long-term sustainability of Mushunga.
Second, we are grateful to share that thanks to a generous donation, a water source has been found and secured at the farm and we are deeply thankful for this provision.
However, our current challenge lies in extending the water supply to the orphanage and school. To transport the water, pipes must pass through neighboring land, and this requires agreements with local landowners. We are actively working toward a solution so that we can fully utilize this clean water supply for the children’s daily needs.
Third, last year we saw a progress with the farm income projections and future plans, we have since then embarked on the bull fattening and chicken brooding Purchased five bulls, coffee planting, corns to strengthen our livestock program and improve the farm’s productivity and future income potential.

The planted maize/corns are part of our ongoing effort to improve food supply for the children and reduce dependency on external purchases.
These developments are more than agricultural activities. They are investments in stability. Every crop planted and every animal added contributes to the long-term sustainability of the Mushunga Community Project and the future serving of underprivileged and vulnerable children in Uganda.
Thank you for believing in this vision. Thank you for helping us expand the children’s facilities, strengthen the farm, improve learning conditions, and welcome more children into safety and hope.
February has been a month of building and planting. We look forward to seeing the fruit of these efforts in the months ahead.
From Welcoming New Lives, Renewing Our Commitment to more many years of serving the children
With sincere gratitude,
The Mushunga Community Project Team
