Dear Mushunga Community,
As we move further into the new year, we’re filled with gratitude for your continued support. This month, we want to share stories of growth, the impact of your generosity, and a few challenges we’ve faced.
Anthony and the Goat: A Special Gift of Hope
Remember the goat purchased for Anthony, a sponsored child? This wasn't just any gift; it was a special, individual gift from his sponsor, specifically for him. We’re thrilled to share that the goat gave birth to a healthy kid! This seemingly small event is making a significant difference for Anthony’s family. The kid represents future income and sustainability. This is a beautiful example of how personal, individual gifts from sponsors extend beyond the sponsored child, positively impacting the entire family.
The Power of Sponsorship: Making Real Change
Anthony’s story highlights the transformative power of sponsorship. Your contributions provide children with essential resources, creating opportunities for a brighter future. Seeing the tangible impact of your generosity, like the goat providing for Anthony’s family, reinforces the importance of your support.
Health Challenges: Your Prayers Are Needed
Unfortunately, we’ve experienced a few cases of malaria among the children this month. The intense sunshine has also presented health challenges. We are taking all necessary precautions and providing medical care, but we ask for your prayers for the children’s continued recovery and well-being. Please join us in wishing them strength and good health.
Sponsorship Opportunities: Make a Lasting Impact
If you're inspired by Anthony's story and want to make a tangible difference in a child's life, consider sponsoring a child at the Mushunga Community Project. Your monthly contribution provides essential resources like food, clothing, education, and healthcare. For just US $35 per month for children in Kindergarten and Primary school, or US $45 per month for secondary school, you can create a brighter future for a child in need. Building a Sustainable Future: Progress on Our 9-Acre Land Project
Last year, we embarked on a crucial journey towards long-term sustainability for the Mushunga Community Project. We are thrilled to announce that we have made significant progress on our 9-acre land project! We have also successfully completed the purchase of a new land, and funding for the building project is also now complete. This includes staff toilets and new classrooms.
What this means for Mushunga:
How does the sustainability progress help Mushunga?
Create a sustainable way of taking care of the orphans: This project will provide a reliable and consistent source of resources, reducing our dependence on fluctuating donations.
Creating an opportunity for Mushunga to generate income that covers the day-to-day expenses: The farm and other activities will generate income, allowing us to cover essential costs like food, education, and healthcare.
A unique approach to orphanages for not relying on only donations: This innovative approach sets Mushunga apart, creating a model of self-sufficiency and long-term stability.
How does building classrooms help?
Help Mushunga to run VCS from kindergarten to Grade 7, helping children stay in one environment for their education and nurturing: This allows us to provide a consistent and supportive educational environment for our children from their earliest years through primary school.
Offering job opportunities to the community: The expansion of our facilities creates employment opportunities for local community members, contributing to economic development.
Developing more facilities to serve children better: With more classrooms, we can provide improved learning spaces and expand our services to meet the growing needs of our children.
This land will be a hub for sustainable development, empowering our community and ensuring a brighter future.
Looking Ahead:
We are committed to providing the best possible care for our children. Your support allows us to address their needs, both physical and emotional. We are grateful for your partnership in this journey.
Thank you for your ongoing compassion and commitment.
With sincere gratitude,
The Mushunga Community Project Team
